Start from a built-in library rather than a blank field: Ace, Twins, Trips, Bunch, King, Queen, Jack, Deuce, Deuce Wing, Empty and more, each mirrored left and right, plus spread sets, Trey, Quads, Pro and Wildcat. 7v7 tackle gets its own 20-formation subset. Named motions are wired to the sets they belong to.
Blocking that knows what it is blocking
This is what separates tackle from flag. Pick a scheme — inside zone, stretch, power, counter, G or slide — and a playside, and every lineman gets an assignment resolved against the actual defensive front on the field, not a picture you have to redraw every time. Combo calls resolve to the nearest down man. When a rule cannot decide, the app tells you instead of guessing.
Ten fronts and seven coverages on the other side of the ball
Set the defense from 4-3, 4-4, 3-4, 4-2-5, 5-2, 5-3, 3-3-5, 4-6, Nickel or Dime, and put Cover 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 or 2-Man behind it, with three pressures on top. Defenders are placed by technique and alignment, and every defender gets his own assignment, so the picture on the screen is the picture your opponent is actually going to line up in.

Play the call back as an animation: routes run, linemen fire out and pull, the secondary drops into the coverage you chose. It is a drawing that moves — a way to show a player what the play is supposed to look like, and where he fits in it. It does not predict a winner and it does not grade your call. Every player at a position moves the same; nobody in this app has a rating.
